Terms of use

These terms cover casadi.co. Casadi is a business name of Design Box Digital Pty Ltd (ABN 51 657 551 169), 711a/1 Queens Rd, Melbourne VIC 3004, Australia. “We” means that company. By using the site you agree to these terms. They are a draft pending legal review. Nothing in them limits a right the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) gives you that cannot be signed away.

The publication

Casadi is a publication and a database. Entries marked as examples are illustrations. They are not a history of a house, a quotation, or a price you can rely on. Editorial judgements are opinions. They are not a promise that an object is authentic, or that a resale price will be achieved.

Your reviews

• Write about a visit you actually made, to the address on the page. Do not review a house in general, and do not post a note for anyone else.
• We email you a confirmation link. The note stays out of the public page, and out of the rating, until an editor approves it.
• We may refuse or remove a note that is fake, paid for, abusive, private about someone else, or not about that address. A house cannot pay to hide a review.
• You give us permission to publish the approved text with the name you supplied. You keep ownership of the words.

Brand applications

A house may send a product and ask for a review. Sending one does not reserve a date, and it does not buy a verdict. We read the request and we may decline it. An application is not an advertisement. If you want a paid placement, use the advertise page.

Sponsored placements

A featured brand hub, a sponsored article and a featured store are paid placements. Each one is labelled Sponsored where it appears, and paid placements are listed ahead of unpaid ones. The label is the disclosure. Payment does not change a rating, a review, the archive, or an editor’s decision on a product application. Treating an unlabelled paid placement as independent editorial would be misleading, and we do not do that.

Payments through Stripe

Prices for placements are shown on the advertise page before any checkout starts. Billing is set up for Stripe. This preview runs in Stripe test mode and is not armed to take a card payment, so nothing is charged by using the site today. When a live charge is switched on, Stripe will collect the card details. We do not store the full card number. A subscription continues until you cancel it, including for a period you have already started. Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not erase a placement that has already run.

If you are a consumer, the ACL consumer guarantees apply to a placement we actually supply. Where the law allows a limit, our liability for a paid placement is limited to supplying the placement again or paying the cost of having it supplied again. We do not limit liability for death, personal injury, or a guarantee that the ACL says cannot be limited.

Acceptable use

Do not send anything unlawful, anything you do not have the right to share, or anything that impersonates another person. Do not try to break the site, scrape it in a way that degrades it, or create fake reviews or fake claims. We may remove a submission and suspend a request that breaks these terms.

Our material

The Casadi name, the wordmarks and the text we write belong to Design Box Digital Pty Ltd or its licensors. You may link to a public page. You may not copy the archive or the guides to build another database.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. The courts of Victoria hear disputes, except that a consumer may use the courts and tribunals the ACL allows where they live. Questions about these terms go to service@casadi.co.
